Reception
Any logistics and manufacturing operation starts with the reception of materials. Whether loaded on pallets or loose, the items will be registered and then distributed to other zones.

Storage
To locate the goods in the most efficient way possible, the process must share data with the goods reception phase and the order picking phase. Warehouses usually occupy the largest part of a logistics centre, for raw materials, finished products or general inventory.

Order preparation

Metro Madrid's logistics centre is located on the edge of the city in order to deliver parts to the more than 300 locations in the city centre as quickly as possible. Time and efficiency are crucial here. Metro Madrid was looking for a high-density storage solution with a view to expansion in the future. For the integration, they found a partner in Toyota Material Handling.
An AutoStore solution was installed at Metro Madrid’s micro-fulfilment centre. The design and delivery was done together with Bastian Solutions, a Toyota Advanced Logistics Company.

Our Warehouse Execution System (WES) comes with warehouse technology control software (WCS) and warehouse inventory management software (WMS).
WCS co-ordinates automated order processing, while WMS focuses on stock and employees: quantity and location of stock, restocking, order processing in different waves, the division of labour, and oversight of receipt and shipping work.
